We all know Nicki is far from her hardcore, raunchy, raw self from 2007-2009. She is now more of a pop princess than a hardcore rapper. She promised on her sophomore album would include more "Roman" and edgyness. Was this transition and evolution good or bad for her career and her fans?

I don't think that Harajuku thing is for the Sophomore album era though. Anyways, she may be dressing really crazy these days, but she still makes music and dresses like this so I'm still here for it:
Her evolution has only stepped up her career and amount of fans(and haters), so it's all good.
Her best look was the "Beam Up Scotty Era," and I could even stomach
SOME of the "Pink Friday" looks, but after that... it's a contrived, unoriginal mess.
I was a Nicki fan back in 2008. Had no idea what she looked like then. Just had her songs burned on a CD.
She's beautiful but the weird clothes/wigs overshadow that. Sadly, her sound and style have changed for the worse.

...Vin
I completely agree. The BMUS Era was her best music and style wise.
She is a business woman at the end ot the day and a great one at that. No one here thought she'd be as big as she is right now. She is going to keep changing whether any of us like it or not.
Her evolution has been quite excessive. I'm assuming it was needed for her to gain a more mainstream audience, however it's becoming more of a concocted ploy rather her just coming into her own.
You forgot her "features queen" era with Monster, My Chick Bad, Bedrock etc. etc.
She's a feature queen regardless so i didn't see the point in putting an era when she always does a lot of features before a big project. Hence Dance (A$$), You the Boss, Fireball, Y.U. Mad, etc.

I fell in love with Nicki on the Beam Me Up Scotty era, music wise she has evolved so much..... and Pink Friday really proved that. Image wise, capatilizing off the success of Pink Friday she's trying to appeal to a much bigger audience, i just hope she thinks it out throughly and won't end up regreting it in the long run.
