NEW YORK — Alicia Keys is heading back to high school.
The Grammy-winning singer will visit the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan on Tuesday and donate music instruments to its students.
Keys says her alma mater is underfunded and oversubscribed, “and I hope to make this better for them.”
Alicia also donated two plasma TV's and a sound board to our school. We partnered with her campaign called World of Betters and are creating a new community service requirement. Alicia went to my school from 6th grade until she graduated as Valedictorian at 16.
We also chanted for her to sing, and she started No One and we sang along with her.
Other graduates of my school include Academy Award nominee Jessie Esienberg, Grammy Award winner Britney Spears, Golden Globe award winner Claire Danes, and Grammy Award nominee Karina Pasian.
Now when will any of you be able to say this?
