Following their untimely death; I've noticed that it's what the culture does when there is a death that wasn't anticipated happens and when this happens, sometimes stars that were very irrelevant at the time becomes enshrined in some type of pity-stardom


I mean it happens with all those stars that died, following their death, their albums star selling, everyone mentions them and how they were their biggest fans and that the unfortunately now dead was their fave:


examples:

Michael Jackson, before he died he was just another child molester, after he died all his fans showed the utmost respect for him while other people became new die-hard fans


The most recent

Amy Winehouse, when she died everyone became insta-fans and everyone was praising her - just out of nowhere...

How can you make life hell for an artist when they're alive, then cry when they actually **** off?

People dogged Jackson and Winehouse and made their lives so much harder than they had to be in their final years then want to be the first ones to purchase their albums as if they gave two ***** about them when they were actually here to appreciate it.

And Picasso.

This is a common occurrence, though. It goes along with the old saying, "You don't know what you've got until it's gone". It's easier to appreciate somebody when they're no longer around, celebrities especially. The more negative publicity a celebrity has leading up to their death, the more people will suddenly love and praise them after they pass away.

You're wrong about Michael, but I see your point.

Before his death, everyone looked at him as the fallen popstar, who had gone crazy. He stopped being taking seriously. When he died, the jokes stopped & he was being taken seriously. I guess it is a sign of respect. But I have no doubt some people bandwagoned to start "worshipping" his music.

Anyway, I just wish him to R.I.P. It's true, music wouldn't be the same without him.

Michael Jackson was huge way before his death so you failed with that part,

Aaliyah was praised because she was one of few black solo TEEN's in the 90's, urban wise she was huge unfortunately , she was just starting to become mainstream right before she died

The examples in this post are all wrong, Michael was extremely respected and glorified as God during his peak before all the negativity. Of course when he dies people who loved him will feel free to confess their love.

Tupac was praised during his life don't even star that ****.

And the wrongest example is probably Amy Winehouse, everybody was on her bandwagon when she was alive and scored the best selling album of 2007, even more than when she died.
