Should people be at least able to sing to become SINGers ?
There are many popular singers out there who cant really sing, or at least are not able to perform their songs live, which I think is quite inappropriate.. My opinion is a person should at least know how to perform their songs live in order to be recognised as singers... not by autotuning their voice and stuff...
It would be best to see the competition only between talented people, I would not be mad if GaGa, Bee, ADELE, Xtina, Leona Lewis and Jennifer Hudson compete for the top spot on Hot 100 BB.
Really... maybe Im not good enough to realise that they are 'singing'...
well if they can carry a tune, and they record songs, and the general public buys the songs and pays to see them perform those songs, then obviously they can sing. it's all subjective.

Autotune is what helps a tune to be carried while recording
My fave can sing, and she really doesn't need much or any vocal editing or auto tune. It's just what her old label wanted to do with this latest album. They said they wanted to play with the vocals and that's what they did. And a bunch of new demos of Britney leaked a month ago and she sounds perfectly fine without any editing, actually better without the crap producers put on her voice. Now live singing she can do it, she's just lazy as hell. And she refuses to sing unless she's siting or walking.
To be called a singer, you obviously should be able to sing well.
If you're an artist, you don't necessarily need to sing. At the end of the day, good music can consist of autotuned speaking a a drumbeat. It just depends how it's done.
What?
Really, I Think pretty much every pop girl can sing.
The thing is : Some of then don't have a Powerful voice, but they can clearly sing.
Come On, Britney, Ke$ha etc, they all can sing, but they're no Beyoncé/Christina. It's Just this.
Someone who makes music =/= someone who can sing ( at least sometimes )
A singer = someone who can sing and not necessary someone who makes music
Oh ... And this thread is only for shading
