So after seeing the entire trilogy, I'm convinced they will at least make one more film. There are so many loose ends open like why didn't they show the house burning down? We know it happens, but it is removed from the film, just like the Bloody Mary scene with just the girls and not Dennis' friend. While I think those will more than likely be in the bonus footage for this movie, I think they can go in many directions in 4.

This is how I pieced together the entire story.
Kristie's and Katy's grandmother made a deal with this demon, now called Toby, along with this witch cover thing, for unrealistic wealth. That's why they all have huge houses and in the third movie the grandmother is concerned about Dennis' only being around for the money. In the movie, the grandmother suggest they have another child, a boy, so they can sacrifice him to the demon. If you remember from the second movie, the daughter does some Googling and finds information on how the first born son into the family must be sacrificed to the demon as repayment. The mother says she doesn't want any more kids and then the haunting begins. At the end we find out all about the evil grandmother, who kills her daughter and Dennis (via Toby) and the girls don't remember anything because of the possession.

In the second movie we know Kristie has had a son which will be the repayment to the demon. Toby comes back after he is born to take him, but the husband pushes the demon over to Katy.

In the first movie, the demon has been passed to Katy, slays her husband to pieces, possesses Katy who then goes to (in the second movie) Kristie's house, slays Kristie and her dude and then makes off with hunter.

That's what we know so far... but what we don't know it....

Where is their real father? Katie talks to him in the first movie.

Micah brings up Katie's mom in the first movie and says "she shouldn't come over anymore" or something... but she is killed in the third movie. We know she's dead because she doesn't leave with the grandmother and the girls at the end. She lays there, lifeless.

Where are Katie & Hunter now? This is realistically the focal point of the whole movie. Though they never talk about the police looking for Hunter after the second one, we know they are looking for her in the first.

What happened with the extras from the movies who experienced the demon? The priest from the first movie, the daughter in the second and the babysitters from the third?


I'm shook up from it all, really. I love the loose ends and I can't wait for the next one.

I haven't seen the third one but I can't get into the first two.

I think it's an acquired taste. I love movies about exorcisms and demons... especially since they're usually more so thrillers than horror films.

This movie is by far a bigger thriller but it scares the **** outta you when you get home and try to sleep, like I saw the movie yesterday and could NOT shut my damn eyes without imaging tobey coming for me

If they don't make a 4th I will be disappointed because I love the storyline of the series! I wish they would stop advertising as some freaky movie that will make you scared shitless and more as a thriller movie.

If they do that, people will be less inclined to go. It did have some crazy parts though...

Horror franchises are all about $$$. As long as they're profitable, the studios will continue to produce them. I'm sure there'll be many more of them.

I really want a 4th one! I am so excited! I loved the movies. The second one was SOOOOOO boring. But the third was SO GOOOOOOOOOD!

That camera that moved from side to side was so scary! everytime it went to the right I freaked out that something was going to happen on the left. And so on, it's messed up! I LOVED IT!

It was seriously a flawless idea. I heard that one of the actors brought it up towards the middle of filming and it changed the scenes up a lot.

There were a number of scenes in the commercials not shown in theaters:

- the girl throws water on the demon to show her mother
- the mother being pulled into the bedroom
- a room full of drawings we didn't see
- bloody mary scene with the girls
- house on fire
- demonologist scene
- one of the girls jumps off the little balcony in the room and comes back up the stairs


my friends and I named a few more before...when I think of them again I'll edit.
I'm not sure why they showed all these scenes in the commercials and then pulled them out, there must be a reason.

Watching the third one right now. 20:40 in right now, ugh the background humming and whatnot are so creepy!

Third one was good. It was kind of brilliant to show so many unused scenes in the trailer, because then the trailer was scary but the movie had it's own, seperate scares so not much at all was spoiled.

I felt like it ended too early though. There has to be a sequel to explain what happened between all that and then the girls not remember any of it and thinking they had a relatively normal childhood with just one small haunting. The other two had a much better "climax" than this movie did, this one felt like there were a good 15 minutes more of movie not being shown.

Tell me how their mother can just die in the ending of this movie, but in the 2nd one the two girls mention something about their mom not telling them about what happened to them when they were younger or w/e. Its some ********. I bet the stuff that they used JUST for the trailer was probably better
