CHERYL Cole seems to have got over her X Factor axing if her latest fashion statement is anything to go by.

The Geordie star was wearing trousers emblazoned with Xs when she jetted into LAX airport last night.

It's unclear whether the colourful kecks were designed to pay tribute to the talent show on or to mock creator Simon Cowell over its lukewarm reception in the States.

The former UK judge was sacked from the US version after five days work in May.

She was replaced by Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger on the panel and had a huge bust up with Simon over the humiliating events.

But as the viewing figures for the new show dwindle, she seems to be having the last laugh.

And on Friday she had a dig at the music mogul's age on her twitter page.

She tweeted: "Simon Cowell is '52' Today... Ooops.. I don't think he wanted that mentioned.. My bad !! ;-)"

Then she added: "He is officially in the overs category .. Hehehehehe."

While she continues to mock him, Cheryl has thawed towards her former friend and mentor.

And she reportedly hired a plane to trail a 'happy birthday' banner over his rented house in South Beach Miami.

It read: "Simon Cowell is 52 today! Ha ha ha! Love Cheryl xoxo."

It definitely didn't live up to the hype, but there's still time. I don't think the viewers fell off that much from the opening show, which is a good sign. They should increase when the live shows start. I'm not watching it at all, though. Have no idea what's going on.

Judges house is on Wednesday. Paula got groups, Simon the girls, LA got boys and,,.,..................

Nicole has been boring and dull on X Factor while Cheryl got a very warm welcome from viewers. Simon will want the ratings on the increase, and if bringing Cheryl back will bring them in then she will be back!
