He's actually probably not chubby or overweight at all.
I'm 6'5 and I weigh 180 and while that may seem like a lot that is the "normal body weight" and I'm not fat at all
When I feel like I need to lose weight I usually run an extra mile or two and eat fewer calories worth of food. I also try to steer clear of the fats (if your doing a diet I would say eat no more than 30 grams of fat per day and steer clear of bad carbs and bad fats)
