TORONTO — Toronto rapper Drake will provide yet more headlines in the leadup to the release of his sophomore album with a performance on "Saturday Night Live."
The six-time Grammy nominee has been confirmed as the musical guest for the Oct. 15 instalment of the long-running sketch-comedy series.
"What's Your Number" star Anna Faris will host the show.
Drake's "SNL" bow will come nine days before the scheduled release of his second album, "Take Care."
First single "Headlines" reached No. 13 on the U.S. Billboard singles chart and also made the top 40 in Canada.
His first album, "Thank Me Later," debuted in the top spot on the chart in Canada and the U.S. en route to platinum sales in both countries.
NBC also announced Monday that Ben Stiller would host "SNL" for a second time on Oct. 8, along with musical guest Foster the People.
Recent Emmy winner Melissa McCarthy will head up this Saturday's show, joined by country crossover hit-makers Lady Antebellum.
