Soccermoms are the ones who buy albums, and Beyonce did an album with songs that targeted those same moms. What the hell do you think one half of I Am... Sasha Fierce was? And she sang a song that could be seen as Mariah/Whitney '90s balladry ("Listen"). Beyonce isn't above it.

I think Beyonce's voice is made for ballads. Lately, her faster songs have not lived up to expectation. She has a great ballady voice.

The key is to make good ballads, not just any old ballad.
