So I know religion is often a topic of discussion here on ATRL that somehow works its way into certain threads. It seems to be a hot-button topic but I figured why the hell not make a thread?

Just wondering what type of religious beliefs we have here? I realize there are all kinds of religions these days, including ones that are made up. Some people don't really classify themselves as being part of a specific religion, but just have specific beliefs. I'm kind of like that...I believe in God and Heaven and Hell, and such but there are obviously things I disagree with that (most) churches preach. Especially regarding homosexuality and gay marriage/equal rights for all.

Hopefully this will be interesting.

I believe the lyric in Born This Way is "capital H-i-m", because that refers to God and only the H is capitalized, not the rest.

I'm a Christian. But I'm not going to be checking for this thread because I'm positive this will escalate somehow into a religious argument and I despise those with a burning passion.

I believe in a higher power. But religions just don't work for me, they separate people instead of uniting.

Well, I'm an agnostic and therefore embrace my human ignorance. Still, i often think that there's some sort of spiritual aspect to life that we simply can't penetrate from our limited level of conciousness. But i absolutely don't believe in any organized, man created religion.

My parents are catholic but I dont have a religion.

Well that's not really what I was hoping for but I'm not one to ignore a good argument . Just trying to get a general idea of what we believe here on ATRL.

I fell off the Catholic bandwagon a long time ago. I just don't believe in organized religion.

I was once a fanatic christian and republican because they tried to convince me I wasn't gay but I saw the light... I still believe in God. but I don't believe in organized religions, there's something shady about them, I respect my families' beliefs tho.
