Madonna forces volunteers to look away from her
Madonna, In Toronto, Doesn't Let Volunteers Look At Her Before Press Conference

At the Toronto International Film Festival, each movie showing opens with a pre-roll of messages meant to inform the press, industry folk and public about different aspects of the major event.
Amongst the most prominent of these ads is a series of sketches featuring famous directors in messy scenarios, a sort of parallel universe that would explode without the help of the festival's ubiquitous and dutiful orange-shirted volunteers. The ad ends with a thank you to the unpaid staff for all their hard work, and the audience, on cue, applauses resoundingly.
Maybe she hasn't seen a movie at the festival yet, or maybe they gave her a bouquet of hydrangeas; either way, Madonna, according to a report in Toronto's Globe and Mail, did not quite show the same appreciation for the volunteers' tireless hustle.
The "W.E." director premiered her film at the festival Monday night, and earlier in the day, sat down for a press conference with a gaggle of international reporters. Backstage, before the event, word is that she refused to allow the volunteers to even look at her in the eye. Instead, as a volunteer told the paper, they had to turn their backs to her as she made her way to speak with the assembled masses.
Clearly, Madonna doesn't deal well with the little people press events; it was in Venice that she made her infamous hydrangea diss. Which, by the way, she refuses to let go away.

The only reason she's doing all this **** is so she can use the negativity against her to excuse her movie flopping.
She wants the negative press so she can get away from being blamed for directing what is widely regarded to be a ****** movie.

That's what got her this far though. She didnt let anyone run over her and she did what she wanted when she wanted. The only people that matter are her producers and songwriters she collaborated with, and they have raved and praised her for her cooaperation and work ethic. Madonna's a bitch to those who want her to do what THEY want her to do. End of story.

There's a fine line between being an insufferably rude person and being someone who stands up for themselves.
It's not like these outrageous demands are rooted in her taking a proverbial stand, she's just being a bitch.

Why not?
Turn yourself into a bitch, movie gets negative press, claim that they were judging you instead of the film.
****, she already said that she knew people were judging her, and not her film.
Madonna is just being smart, and finding the best way to keep this film from ruining her career, which it has the potential of doing. People know Madonna can be a ****, so this press is just more bitch news. However, it's been already taking focus off of how poorly her film is being received, so by the time the public sees it, Madonna (and her stans) can just use the "she was being a bitch, so people hated her".
Then, 6 months from now, when she releases her first single "**** On Everyone In the Game (feat. Lady Gaga, Britney, & Beyonce)", people will forget the movie, and only remember bitchy Madonna. They'll forget how poorly W.E. did critically, and only remember "That time Madonna was mean about Hydrangeas" when they look back to before the new single/album.
It's genius really. I love Madonna, and I'm not shading or flamebaiting when I say all of this. It's a brilliant PR move, and I commend her for making herself seem like a bigger bitch, as too walk away from W.E. unscathed.

Madonna's movie isnt doing bad. She dosent need to do anything like that. Her movie got positive reviews in toronto, and mixed in venice. Many critics are surprised by it. Your theory is absolute ****, Madonna has never been one to create a stratagized theory so she wont be embarrased by something she created.
