ATRL: Your iTunes OCD's.

I'm sure everyone has their own OCD's when it comes to iTunes and other music players.
For example, my iTunes OCD's include:
- I only have material bought off iTunes, for those physical albums I have on my iPod, I am planning to re-buy them on iTunes to save space on my iPod.
- I only have albums. No singles to be found anywhere.
- Once I by an album by an artist, I must buy all of their following albums.
- All of my albums must have artwork and fit into a genre of either Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, R&B/Soul and Rock.
- NO remixes or "Part 2"s. Same goes for Remix albums and "Greatest Hits" albums.
- If the track is purely instrumental, then it must not go for longer than 2 minutes 30 seconds.
Name your iTunes OCD's.

I only just realised how much of an obsessive person I am over my iTunes.

Same as you, I need to have every album by an artist once I get into him/her.
I have to finish listening to an artist completely before moving on. That means listening to every album a couple of times, rating it, adding art, the works.
Fan-made albums can't have over 25 tracks in them. I had to break down all of Brit's extra material into three albums. Dx

I also hate when their is so much material on one album, but if it is combined albums like Ke$ha's Animal/Cannibal and Lady GaGa's The Fame/The Fame Monster, then I can handle it.
Even though I said I don't want Greatist Hits albums, back in March I bought Britney's "The Singles Collection" (Deluxe) and even after cancelling out all the B-Side remixes it is still a good 40 track album.
I have now decided to buy Britney's albums from "In the Zone" onwards to go with my FF album and then I can delete "The Singles Collection".

Seriously, I can't have a track be part of a greatest hits album unless it's special like My Prerogative or 3
I also want to make sure I tag Kpop artists with their right name, ex. whichever name is most popular on lastfm, Korean or English text.
I tag all my tracks with featured artists like "Crazy in Love (feat. Jay-Z)", none of that 'featuring', 'ft.', or that bull with Beyonce feat. Jay-Z as the artist. MESS

^ Yeah I hate the "Nicki Minaj & Rihanna" under artist then "Fly (feat. Rihanna) under song name -__- It ****s up my searching on my ipod. Another one of my mishegases is artwork has to be 600x600 or larger but always proportional like 700x700, 800x800 etc. I hate the black lines above and below artwork covers that itunes sometimes gives.

Omg, same. I am kinda upset that I will be deleting Britney's "3" when I get her albums, but I wouldn't be able to hope having that 1 single labelled as an album. I will enjoy it while it lasts.
YES. I completely forgot this one! I always have my albums labelled as the actual artist, and I always have my songs "xxx (feat. xxx)". I agree, not here for that mess.
I also remembered that even though I buy deluxe albums, I have to re-name the album to get rid of the (Deluxe) or (Bonus track version) and just have the standard name. Then I add standard artwork to the standard tracks, and leave the deluxe artwork to the deluxe tracks.

I just recently changed from "*Song* (feat. *some artist*)" to "*Song*" by *actual artist & featured artist*
It is indeed a mess but when you search in albums it looks beautiful i.e. rap albums that have s#itloads of featured artists.
The song and below each song the name of the artist(s).

- ONE SONG ON iTUNES BY AN ARTIST MEANS EVERY SONG THEY HAVE EVER RELEASED
- NO GENRES. NO COMPOSERS. NO COMMENTS. NO LYRICS.
- NO FEATURES. CREDIT GOES TO THE MAIN ARTIST.
EXAMPLE, LADY GAGA FEAT BEYONCE TELEPHONE WILL ONLY BE LADY GAGA TELEPHONE
- ALL SOUNDTRACKS GO IN THEIR OWN SEPERATE ARTIST (MOVIES & TV SHOWS)
- ANY SONGS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN OFFICIALLY RELEASED GO IN ALBUM (THE UNRELEASED)
- INSTRUMENTALS, REMIXES, LIVE THAT HAVE NOT BEEN OFFICIALLY RELEASED GO IN ALBUM (THE UNRELEASED: REMIXED)

- no singles. ONLY albums
- i can't have two people listed under Artist. eg for Fly, under Song name i'd put Fly (ft. Rihanna) and under Artist, Nicki Minaj. because otherwise it stuffs up everything when i wanna listen to nicki minaj but can't find "Fly" because it's listed under "Nicki Minaj and Rihanna"
- if i get something off mediafire and the track name or album artwork is wrong, it obviously has to be changed.

All albums must have art work, no comments etc, all albums- everything must go under an album- no singles. Everything on my iTunes must come from a physical source- if downloaded/illegally I will keep it til I get the album, feats must go like this e.g Rihanna/Jay-Z: Umbrella it must always have "/" from this decade on a smart playlist called "2011" must contain all songs released from 2011 in it etc. All albums must be grouped by artist, I must have some songs from every letter of the alphabet, no deluxe etc next to the album just the original album title if I like the delxue cover I'll use it instead of the original, must collect each album from the artist

All the songs on my ipod SHOULD all have an artwork or else I get annoyed seeing that grey note thingy.
All the songs should be named/labelled properly.
I also remove the (deluxe, bonus track) at the end of the album name.
Collaborations: (eg:Whats My Name: Rih/Drake- have to rename it to Whats My Name (feat.Drake) - Rihanna)
I also want my CoverFlow to be perfect

- Song Titles Have To Be Typed This Way
- Other formats:
- Song Title [featured artist] - songs with featured artist
- Song Title (Acoustic) - live acoustic
- Song Title (Acoustic Version) - done in the studio
- Song Title (Original artist's name + the word "Cover") - a cover song

hold CTRL and click on all the tracks that you want to be listed under the same album. then right click, Get Info > Options tab. under "Part of A Compilation" choose yes. then itunes will put them together under the same album

I need to do this one
· Unreleased songs, bonus tracks that I don't feel like putting in their respective albums, live 'non-official' recordings, etc, must go to a kinda 'invisible album' with the only information being the artist's name, in the album's name just a few blank spaces and cover just a white square so it will look... 'invisible'. I figured this one out accidentally after some messy iTunes update.
