A man has been charged after breaking into singer Celine Dion's house and running a bath, Montreal police said.
The 36-year-old also raided the star's fridge before an alarm alerted police, who arrested him on the premises.
Police spokesman Franco Di Genova said Dion and her husband were not at home at the time of the break-in.
He said the man had jumped a fence to get on the property and used a garage door opener he found in an unlocked vehicle to gain access to the house.
"He opened the water faucets, was pouring a nice warmish bath," Di Genova said.
"He even managed to eat some pastry that was in the fridge."
The officers came face-to-face with the intruder, who told them he was a family friend.
Officers checked with a security guard, who confirmed that no visitors were expected in the house.
Snack wrappers were then discovered in the kitchen, as well as cigarette butts and discarded notes in an office.
The intruder has been named as Daniel Bedard, a resident of Laval, the suburb where Dion's house is located.
Local media reported that he had made suicidal comments during his arrest and was taken to hospital to be evaluated.
He was released on Tuesday morning, then questioned further before being charged with breaking and entering, car theft and causing property damage.
