Happiness is something we all strive for, but unfortunately not everyone manages to be happy.
So how would you answer these questions:
- Would you say that you are happy right now? (rate your happiness from 1 - unhappy to 10 - very happy)
- What makes you happy/sad?
- What do you think generally affects humans' happiness level?
- What kind of future would make you happy?
I recently watched this TED talk on happiness and its so insightful, useful and entertaining. I highly recommend it.
The world of psychology is very caught up with Happiness right now, there is even a field dedicated to studies on happiness - Positive Psychology.
There have been some interesting studies on happiness lately and the results are quite surprising, so would you agree/disagree with these results?:
- Above a certain (rather low) threshold, income doesn't affect the happiness level of people
- Physical appearance has no significant affect on happiness after a certain (rather young) age, as people get used to their looks
- Having many choices makes us UNhappy, because after choosing one option we always think about missed opportunities
- Would you say that you are happy right now? (rate your happiness from 1 - unhappy to 10 - very happy)
6 - What makes you happy/sad?
Everybody around me having a positive attitude, success, seeing things go my way. - What do you think generally affects humans' happiness level?
Stress and responsibility. - What kind of future would make you happy?
I future with my own businesses, a partner, and excepting family.
- Would you say that you are happy right now? (rate your happiness from 1 - unhappy to 10 - very happy) I'm fairly content at the moment, I'd say I'm a 9. - What makes you happy/sad? To be honest, I rarely get sad (maybe a couple of days out of the month) for no reason. There are times when things happen that bring on sadness but I generally get over them fairly quickly; always have and I don't know why. Lots of things make me happy, especially music and movies, being with friends, and also being by myself because I'm an extremely independent person but I'm not introverted. - What do you think generally affects humans' happiness level? I think it's different for everyone, but I think the most basic characteristic of happiness is to feel like you are loved or belong. - What kind of future would make you happy? I can't really say.

- Would you say that you are happy right now? (rate your happiness from 1 - unhappy to 10 - very happy) -> About a 3 at best. Alot of stress, and bad luck. It sometimes seems as if someone/or something will stop at nothing until I'm miserable.
- What makes you happy/sad? Happy - when things go my way, and I find sucess. Sad - the complete opposite
- What do you think generally affects humans' happiness level? Sucess. If you find sucess wether in be in a job / life / relationship, if you are sucessfull your usually happy.
- What kind of future would make you happy? To work a job I enjoy, in a city I like to live in.

What makes me happy are my loving family, good music, making good music, fun games, popsicles, and smiling. What makes me sad is not having a job...
Human happiness is affected by positive or negative change and how we respond to it... like some people laugh at certain horror movies and others cry at certain children's / family movies... to each his own
The only future that would make me happy is making music for everyone to enjoy...
- Would you say that you are happy right now? - 6
- What makes you happy/sad? - The thing that can make me happy most is love. Right now I'm now I'm in love but I can't meet the person I love, because she's on a trip to Greece with her parents and that's why I gave myself a 6. I miss her so much but she'll be back in 2 days. The only thing that can make me really sad is death of a close person to me. Thank God I haven't experienced it yet.
- What do you think generally affects humans' happiness level? - It depends a lot. For someone it could be money, for others - fame and so on.
- What kind of future would make you happy? - First of all, I want to have a successful marriage, I want exactly 3 kids and I want to have a succesful carrer in the medicine field. Nothing else won't make so happy.
I am very happy! I have a great job, great apartment, great friends, loving family, and couldn't ask for more.
I get happiest when I'm at work. Something about the feeling of doing something makes me feel great.
Humans are all so different, that I think we all have our own things to make us happy. Work usually makes people sad, but I love it.
I'd like to travel more.
Yes TED is badass
What kind of work do you? happiness at work is indeed pretty rare. I feel quite good at my current job, but I have interests that could make me happier, so I'm considering to study them in the future.

It is a very interesting point, but I think its false (and the talk I posted addresses exactly this issue). People think they'll be happy as soon as they achieve some level of success, but as soon as you achieve this level your expectations raise further and you have higher standards for success, so feeling of happiness gets "postponed". Its important to feel happy right now...happy people are usually more productive and achieve more success.

I'm a teacher. Last year I was a student teacher and was heavily monitored. This year I get to work solo with my own class.
It's more rewarding than you could ever imagine. Everyday makes me happy.
