The X Factor returned with a bang last night as an average of 11.3m tuned in, the latest overnight data reveals.
Introducing new judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Constostavlos and Kelly Rowland, the eighth series of the talent show launched with 10.8m (45.7%), as well as a further 504k on ITV1 +1.
Season 1 launch: 4.9 million
Season 2 launch: 6.6 million
3: 7.0 million
4; 9.5 million
5: 10.2 million
6: 9.9 million

Did the whole panel basically get annexed this season?
Simon left so he could launch XF USA, Cheryl left for XF USA too but then she got fired from that project and it was too late because they had already replaced her in the UK. Danni quit to focus on her other projects

Loved it. The new judges were much better than the previous ones. Cheryl never had anything technical to say, whereas Kelly was actually able to criticise the vocal techniques of the singers, while Tulisa identified personality flaws instantly. Best panel yet.
The producers have made the wrong move by portraying Gary Barlow as the 'new' Simon Cowell... It doesn't suit him nor does it come across genuine. Kelly Rowland is by far the best judge on that panel. Louis seemed shadowed by the other three judges... while Tulisa doesn't bring much to the show apart from her firery attitude and her outspoken nature.
Nice judging panel though, wouldn't have worked without Kelly Rowland.
I watched the repeat this morning and I do like the new judging panel, although I agree with what others have said about Gary Barlow...he needs to be Gary Barlow the judge, not just Simon Cowell 2.0.

I agree, whats with the hate for Tulisa? She's fantastic.
