The Church of Nintensus congregates once again!
The Nintendo 3DS will retail for $169.99 starting on August 12. When the system launched on March 27 it had a suggested retail price of $249.99.
You can use the Nintendo 3DS to play regular Nintendo DS games as well, now there's no reason to buy the old Nintendo DS!

Early Adopters, 20 Free Games
These free games are
available to anyone who owns a Nintendo 3DS system and uses a wireless broadband Internet signal to connect to the Nintendo eShop at least once before 11:59 p.m. ET on Aug. 11. These users will automatically be registered in the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador program.
Starting Sept. 1,
Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors will be able to download 10 NES games, like Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Jr., Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, The Legend of Zelda and other five to be announced at no charge and before they are available in the Nintendo eShop to the general public.
By the end of 2011,
Nintendo will also provide Ambassadors with 10 free Game Boy Advance games, like Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario vs. Donkey Kong and other five to be announced. These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on the Nintendo 3DS in the future.
TL;DR - Buy a 3DS before the price cut, connect to the online "eShop" and you will be rewarded with 10 NES games and 10 GBA games!
