Currently Facebook is #1 social site on the planet. It literaly killed Myspace without much trouble. Facebook is still growing towards 700 million users, having reached 687 million monthly actives by the start of June.
But one question occurs lately - Has Facebook peaked? According to many sources there is a drop in the number of newly activated accounts and the number of deactivated ones is raising.

On the top of that last month Google revealed its latest social site called Google +. So far the reviews are promising and despite of being in closed beta the activated accounts are 18 million only for a month.


What do you think? Will Google dethrone Facebook from #1? Will Facebook share the same fate as Myspace?

I think Google+ and Facebook can co exist seeing that they have different purposes.
Google+ is more sharing content found on the internet
while Facebook is more socializing and connecting with others through games, chatting and pages

I love Facebook,but i whole lot of my friends are now going to Tumblr and are saying that Facebook is dead.

The reason why MySpace died is cause Facebook has new features. Google+ is just the same thing (so far). Also, we already know that google is such a flop when it comes to social stuff (wave, buzz)

Facebook WON'T die. My Space died because the interface sucked, and it was slower than a turtle running for its life.

Google+ will coexist. I like it, but haven't found any use for it. I only go once a day to see what happened, and that's it. Facebook I check more constantly, but I think because I'm used to it. I don't use it as much as I used, too. I think what I do most now is congratulate people in their bdays.

Twitter is the best.

I just wish Google+ could integrate Google apps a lot better. For example, it is great for content sharing but somehow there seems to be a disconnect between Google Reader and Google+, unless you post something to buzz, which can then show up in your buzz tab. Facebook has been pretty good in integrating many different things a lot better, but I am sure Google will catch up.

P.S. I would be okay with Google never getting games or pages XD I find those features of fb quite annoying, but if one could more easily share their company address or game invites via tabs or something, it'd be fine. Chatting is already available on google+ through gChat.

See [+] is the best of FB TWITTER and TUMBLR all put together, all the young kids from Myspace headed over to facebook and you have all these stupid LMS statuses and them damn this person is a friend with this one and that one and this one and that.. IDC... people are just complaining and airing out while I find Google + to be more informative, bu then again that's who I subscribe to.. it's going to be big, real big.


Not to mention the hangouts from OovoO which were a rave, the whole system is hot.. I love it!

Thank God, there is Facebook!

Facebook will die, eventually. I can't think of any internet service aside from Google which has dominated since the internet blew up in the early 90s.
