I asked that beacuse I really need some Advice soo I decided to come here and ask my fellow ATRL members
One of my childhood friends (who is now 19) found out by her mother that she is a product of rape, her mother was scared to tell her as a child.. she felt that she would feel ashamed. when my friend was little her mother would just tell her that her dad was not around , you won't be meeting him, etc. My friend is having a diffucult time coping with this and now wants to know who her father is. I told her If it was me I would never want to find out who hurt my mother.
So what would you Do? Would you want to know who your father was?
oh that's sad. She shouldn't try to find him. It would be a mess. She should just give her mom love and support and understand it's clearly a tough thing to tell your child that your conception wasn't planned, and wasn't made of love. Best to just stick with family that actually sticks around in my opinion.

Ignorance is bliss. But I would want my mother to tell me because I don't think she could ever be truly happy for anything I accomplish or do or really of my existence if she knew of the kind of secret she was keeping. i wouldn't want to meet the man that raped her, though.
IMO the mother should have told her child a lot sooner of this, because now the person is going to have to live with this as a fact of their life when it wasn't just taken for granted when they were a child.
