BoTB 90s Style: Deciding ROUND TWO.
Supaspaz - you wanted to know how the rest of the game will go? Here it is.
Round Two will have 32 artists - the top twenty-eight scorers, and FOUR WIlDCARD choices chosen by you.
So, without further ado, the twenty-eight artists who scored highly enough to make it into the next round, with no public assistance:
Christina Aguilera
Mary J. Blige
Toni Braxton
Mariah Carey
The Cranberries
The Fugees
Green Day
Lauryn Hill
Natalie Imbruglia
Janet Jackson
Jay-Z
Madonna
George Michael
Kylie Minogue
Monica
Alanis Morrissette
Nine Inch Nails
Nirvana
No Doubt
The Notorious B.I.G.
Oasis
Radiohead
Red Hot Chili Peppers
TLC
Tupac Shakur
The Smashing Pumpkins
Britney Spears
Shania Twain
A lot more diverse than I would have expected - but I'm still missing the indie and country appeal.

I don't know how to play the game
But assuming we pick 10 out the list I'll go with:
Mariah Carey
Janet Jackson
MJB
TLC
Madonna
Toni
Monica
Jay-Z
Biggie
Shania
no Brandy

Let me explain our game. We just finished round one - these were the top vote getters. They're playing with their four best 90s tracks, as chosen by the ATRL public. We're starting Round 2 now - and before we do, you all need to decide which four artists make it in.
Here are all the players that DIDN'T make it by way of public vote:
Paula Abdul
Fiona Apple
Backstreet Boys
The Beastie Boys
Beck
Bjork
Boyz II Men
Garth Brooks
Brandy
Cher
Cathy Dennis
Celine Dion
Destiny’s Child
The Dixie Chicks
Missy Elliot
En Vogue
Fatboy Slim
The Goo Goo Dolls
Hanson
PJ Harvey
Hole
Whitney Houston
Michael Jackson
Jewel
KORN
Marilyn Manson
Reba McEntire
Sarah McLachlan
Moby
*NSYNC
Outkast
Pavement
Pet Shop Boys
Pearl Jam
Liz Phair
The Pixies
Prodigy
REM
Robyn
Selena
Sleater-Kinney
Shakira
Soundgarden
The Spice Girls
SWV
Third Eye Blind
U2
Weezer
Robbie Williams
Vanessa Williams
VOTE FOR YOUR FOUR FAVORITE ARTISTS FROM THIS LIST. Send me a PM of your four faves, ranked from 1-4. UNRANKED LISTS WILL NOT COUNT.
The four artists that get the most votes move on to the next Round. You have TWENTY FOUR HOURS.

Perhaps I didn't make things clear - vote from the SECOND LIST, not the first.
And here are some FYCS:
Really, ideally, I'd love for everyone's lists to be some combo of ...
Weezer
Bjork
Brandy
The Spice Girls
Reba McEntire
Liz Phair
Aaliyah
Backstreet Boys
Missy Elliot
Pet Shop Boys
The Pixies
Thanks in advance!

How did The Smashing Pumpkins both make it into the round of 32 and fail to make it into the round of 32?
Otherwise, the vote...is in. I reserve the right to change my vote if need be, though.

Damn, that was hard choosing just four wild cards! (Also, Aaliyah was left of the list for some reason).

I'm still a little confused on how this worked out though. Were these the top 28 highest-rated artists across the entire round 1? Because week four, for example, has five artists moving on, while most of them only have three.

I know everyone is including Cathy Dennis in their wildcards list just so we won't have to experience the impossible pain that would be her early demise.
It was incredibly difficult to pick only 4. I'm rather surprised to see several big names (MJ, Whitney, Celine) on the list of those who do not automatically qualify. I assumed they'd all get massive support just because they are who they are, but truthfully, it'll be no great loss if a couple of the superstars don't move onto the next round (most would agree that the persons I'm referring to peaked in the 80s).

Yeah, these were the highest totals per week. Week four was a massive week! Week 8 almost topped it; if I had made it a top 40, Week 8 would have had six artists representing it.

Okay, the next person who votes for either Brandy or The Spice Girls splits the tie. Do it!

Scratch that previous post.
The four wildcards are:
Bjørk
Missy Elliot
Backstreet Boys
Weezer
Week one/nine will be up in the morning.

Rather surprised by this output, particularly Missy Elliot, who had ONE relevant song that entire decade. MAYBE two. Definitely okay with both Bjork and Weezer making it, and BSB was kind of important in the 90's, so I can accept that.
But the lack of Pearl Jam in the next round is just criminal.

That's how I feel about the whole of indie/alt rock and almost all of country being shown the door.
In favor of ... let me not spoil surprises.
