Would You Ever Say "I Love You" to Someone First?
I've had this problem for quite a long time. I've never said "I love you" to a guy first. I always wait for him to say it to me first and then I can say it. Even then, I don't say it a lot and God knows I'm a really romantic guy inside me.
The last time I had feelings for a guy was 2 years ago, so I almost forgot how it was. But now, I met a guy that I'm starting to like more and more. Handsome (an ex-model ^^), very intelligent and grounded and that I can talk to for hours without being bored. Anyways, I feel he's into me because we kissed, he's always texting me sweet messages, he wants to see me a lot, etc.
I've been trying to keep my Poker Face the longer possible But now, I think I'm falling for him. But, I can't find myself telling him "I love you" It's too powerful I think. Also, I'm a little bit afraid it will scare him off because a lot of guys told me those 3 words when I didn't really love them back. It only made me awkward toward them. I don't want that to happen with him So, any ideas?

I say it a lot, but I don't always mean it in the strongest way
In answer to the question, yes. Sometimes I have been the first to say it. I don't take that moment too seriously

it took me like 2 months to tell me Ex girlfriend to tell her i love her !
and telling them from the first time would be like a lie or being cheap
at least wait 2-3 weeks !

Just try to restrain yourself as long as you can and show him how great you are.
It'd be pretty crazy if he were wanting to say 'i love you' too but was waiting for you as well.
Or maybe good sex will do, When you both climax one of you say it first.
Or...Just simply tell him.

You don't throw those words to anyone...I said it once i didn't mean it at all and paid the price.

Only you can tell when the time is right. And when the time has come, you will know it. Shine on, Dreamwarrior

Well I say it too with friends... but not in a romantic way with another guy. It's kinda a big deal to me. I'm feeling that I'm letting my guards off when I tell this. I feel vulnerable and I don't like it

I totally imagine the scene, but it wouldn't be really sincere. It's more like "OMG the sex was so good"

You're in an early stage, so I think it's to early to be saying 'I love you' I usually say that, 4 or 5 months in a relation; You just can't be going around tossing the word, when you've barely met the guy; Some people do take those three words seriously, so I wouldn't mention it, yet. I'm sure knowing you like him and are interested, is enough for him.

I know what you mean. I think I've only said it once, and truly meant it.

I wasn't actually saying I was ready to tell him tomorrow. It's too early like you say, but when the time comes (it has in the past), the words just can't get out of my mouth.

Insatiable lust =/= love.
But I guess whatever would do the trick.

Hoiw long have you been dating? Time isn't the only factor, but it's a very important one. Saying "I love yo" to someone who dosen't feel the same is disastrous. And yes, I've bee the first one to say it in the past, but i usually didn't mean it

He's very outgoing in a lot of fields, except the feeling parts He doesn't show his feelings A LOT. I feel he's just like me, from what he told me about his past relationshops. But still, sometimes, he'll let slip some things "I miss you xox" "I wish you were with me now" and that makes me aww.

Well. I don't do dates anymore They're flop.
I don't need them. When I meet a guy we just hang out and talk and if I'm interested, I'll work with it. But for him, I know him for like 2 months. I know it's too early yet. And yes, I know what you mean
A guy that I was "dating" back then when I still did that told me "I love you" and said "me too". 5 seconds later, I was like "wtf did I just say??" I stopped seeing him a week or so later haha.

Traditional "dating" isn't what i meant lol. I meant the same thing as you though, basically just hanging out but being "exclusive". Two months isn't too short of a period imo,but that would depend on how much time you've spent together, and how intimate it's been.
And yes, being told "I love you" too soon and when the feeling's not mutual is pretty uncomfortable. In my head i think "RED FLAG, this person is emotionally unstable or crazy" ... From experience, it's usualy always the latter

IF he's the top then wait for him to ask!
