Where is Nikki Blonsky now? Working at a shoe store.
Quote:
Sure, Nikki Blonsky played the lead in 2007's Hairspray alongside John Travolta and a list of other A-list names and subsequently starred in the ABC Family show Huge. But the actress's current career is anything but.
If you want to find Nikki at work today, just head to Steven Dann, a high-end shoe boutique in her hometown of Great Neck, N.Y.
She'll be behind the register. Seriously.
When Huge failed to make a splash, work slowed to a crawl for the actress and she needed some extra moola.
So why the chic shoe boutique? And is the Hairspray star acting like a Hollywood diva or is she in the running for employee of the month?
"Steven says she's one of the best employees he's ever had!" a store source tells us. "Nikki had known Steven for a long time. When she started her career she got shoes, bags and accessories from the store for red carpets but recently approached him about working at the store."
Dann, we're assured, loved the idea of Nikki bringing in new business and he jumped.
"So it was done," we're told.
Blonsky, who has no comment on the career change, just started the gig last week and hopes to work at the shoe store throughout the summer, but the customers already love her!
"Customers come in and see her and ask, 'Oh my God! What are you doing here?,'" quips our Dann store source, who continues with what's a typical customer reaction: "Are you shopping?', and she laughs and says, 'No, I'm working!'"
Our footwear-friendly insider then fesses: "It's a little uncomfortable for [Nikki] obviously, but the customer will ask her to sign her autograph on the receipt and she does."
And despite changing career gears for a bit, it appears Nikki hasn't lost her inner song and dance.
"She's really sweet to the little kids that come in the store," adds the insider shoe maven. "She even sings and dances for the customers, busting out the tunes from Hairspray!"
But don't worry, Nikki hasn't said sayonara to showbiz. "She's supposedly working on a project that will catapult her career, something bigger than Hairspray," says our shoe-pal.
What could possibly be bigger than Hairspray? Your guess is as good as ours.
Everything she did after Hairspray flopped. Her debut show, "Huge", flopped. If you guys don't know who she is, she's the main cast in Hairspray, and she was one of the girl that got into a fist fight with America's Next Top Model contestant "Bianca", you can find the video some where online as well
Well, I guess you can't always have a mega successful career. At least she has a stable job and isn't getting all desperate for attention and money. If she was wise she would have saved money that she made from the movie so she could live a rather comfortable lifestyle.
Considering she only won a contest (or something like that) for the role in Hairspray but was never serious before that about acting, I'd say she's lucky to have had that experience and earned some money from it. At least she has a job and isn't trying to desperately hang on to whatever little fame she did have.
Nothing wrong with keeping yourself busy. At least it doesn't seem like she is depressed and on drugs because her acting career is in the pooper unlike some other actors who go down this road. Good for her.
I remember that ****ing racist ****. Karma is a bitch. I guess that show about her being fat flopped harder than Rick Ross at a pool party.
I remember hearing about that incident but I don't know the details or anything, except that it happened at an airport, I think. What exactly happened?
I remember hearing about that incident but I don't know the details or anything, except that it happened at an airport, I think. What exactly happened?
On the October 8 episode of The Tyra Banks Show, she says she and her family were in Turks and Caicos to visit their grandfather who "was dying."
When they arrived at the airport, "Nikki Blonsky ... was very rude to my aunt," Bianca says.
"My aunt had two babies in her arms, and she told my aunt, 'You can leave. You can go away,'" Bianca recalls. "I was really upset by that because my aunt and I are close."
When Bianca spoke up, Nikki turned to her and said, "'You need to mind your business. You don't know what’s going on.' She went off," the model says. "There was a lot of words exchanged. I got really defensive."
Golden's mother, Elaine, then intervened, telling them both to calm down.
That's when Blonsky's father, Carl, approached her, Golden says.
"Before my mom could walk away from us, her father ... punched my mom," Bianca tells Banks. "He knocked her out. He hit my mom with such force she stumbled back, and when she stumbled back, the whole family got up and attacked my mom."
Bianca said Nikki then kicked her mother in the crotch.
"That's when my mom fell ... completely," Bianca says. "Both the families were arguing. It was like a scene out of a movie. Airport security finally came and separated everybody."
All the while, Bianca claims the Blonsky family were spewing racial epithets at them. "Her father and mother started saying, ‘They got rabies, they got rabies!'" says Bianca.
Bianca says her mother confided in her on the way to the hospital.
"She said to me, 'Bianca, if anything happens to me, I need you to take care of your brother and sister,'" Bianca says. "To hear that from your mom... I was freaking out."
After suffering a broken nose, fractured skull and internal bleeding, Bianca says her mother is now in therapy.
Says the model, "She walk now and she’s back."
Nikki and her dad are due in court Dec. 1, where she will answer to charges of common assault and actual bodily harm.
Carl is facing a count of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
I was always confused with the whole Nikki Blonsky/Bianca fight... I just read what Bianca said on the Tyra show, and it's horrible, but then I watched the "aftermath" video on YouTube and the lady holding the camera totally makes it sound like it was Bianca's fault (and her family's):

I honestly still don't know who to believe...
Hmmm...those women had no reason to lie. I'm don't I believe Bianca's side of the story
