What does an icon mean to you?
Inspired by a recent discussion in the Shakira vs J Lo thread.
What does an icon mean to you? What attributes would make you consider someone an icon? Who is an icon to you? Discuss.

When ones name and legacy is above all that of any other.
Normally it would refer to someone who has been / is an inspiration to many.
Icon is different from Legend, in my opinion.

But Icon =/= Legend.

An Icon & Legend is basically the same thing contrary to popular belief.
