Confirmed as the second US single from her multi-platinum album, 21.
What are your expectations from Someone Like You on US pop radio? Do you think it will be able to maintain the momentum she built with Rolling In The Deep?
This is risky. Even though I prefer this to SFTTR, I would've released SFTTR as the second single just because it has more of a beat and US radio is notoriously unpredictable when it comes to ballads like SLY, especially in recent times. SFTTR would've led the way for SLY. Hope it takes off though.
According to Pulse, this was posted under Cool New Music on AllAccess with zero airplay, which is most often indicative of a label testing it out to become a single.
It took off easily in the UK because one performance could be viewed by the whole country simultaneously, but the US is too big for that. Don't know if radio will lap this up for the summer, hopefully following RITD will be enough to guarantee some airplay ala Better In Time for Leona. And then SFTTR can smash of it's own accord.
