Stella Mwangi is a Norwegian rapper, well, Norwegian-Kenyan. She was born in Kenya, but when she was 5 she moved to Norway. So, over here we consider her Norwegian. She's released two albums so far, "Living for Music", her debut album, was released in 2008 and "Kinanda", that was released this year.
And this year she was Norway's entry for Eurovision with this song:
Although it completely flopped in Eurovision and didn't even go through to the final, it's a catchy song and it's one of the biggest hits in Norway so far this year, if not the biggest.
After "Haba Haba" she released her second single this year, "Lookie Lookie".
Her second album, "Kinanda", was released on June 17th in Norway. And includes some pretty good songs that are worth checking out.
Here's the tracklist (I've made the ones I think are the best songs bold):
«Haba Haba» «Take My Time» «Hula Hoop» feat. Mohombi «Dance in the Rain»
«Hello» «Lookie Lookie» «Copy My Swang»
«Next Flight» «Smile»
«Hakuna Matata» «Throw Me a Ladder» feat. J. Rice
All in all it's a very good album. Especially for the summer! And her style as a rapper, on some songs, reminds me of Nicki Minaj.
