Rihanna will be coming to Birmingham July 11 to perform at a tornado benefit concert at the BJCC. The star announced the addition to her LOUD tour on Twitter:
"I just added an ALABAMA TOUR DATE TO LOUD TOUR...Monday, July 11th!!! This Concert Will Benefit Tornado Relief Efforts."
The concert, titled "Tragedy to Triumph" will benefit the rebuilding efforts in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. The proceeds will be divided between three charities: Project Team Up, Tuscaloosa Disaster Relief Fund and the Mayor's Disaster Relief Fund.
“Hearing about the hundreds of lives that have been lost and the communities that have been so devastated by this disaster, I wanted to figure out a way to help," Rihanna said. “I’m hoping that bringing the LOUD tour through Alabama can provide a moment of relief and raise a lot of money for the charities we are working with.”
Tickets to the concert will be $15 and $49. The will go on sale Thursday, June 30 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com.
