Discussion: Broadway Musicals?

Lets talk about these!

Since Book of Mormon, the cast recording, is outselling many Pop stars currently, I thought it would be a good idea to share any Broadway Musicals you've seen and your favorites?

I've seen tons, but my favorites would have to be In the Heights (incredible, the lead actor RAPS instead of sings and its all HIP HOP!), and Rock of Ages!

BTW, the musical Wicked has sold 2,000,000+ copies

I've only seen three.

Legally Blonde, Shrek, and Wicked. Wicked just gave me chills, so good! The end of Defying Gravity!

I had this 'DAAAMN' reaction, just...

I saw a bootleg Broadway recording of Spring Awakening filmed with a shakey cam while it was off-broadway, one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Legit, can't see anything sometimes and it still is.

Spring Awakening's music SHAT, but everything else was not so much great.

I saw Legally Blonde too, it actually wasnt that bad

I was fortunate enough to see "In The Heights" last year in New York and WOW! That was a spectacular show. I even bought the CD soundtrack to take back home. I am so sadden that it went off Broadway this year, but it made a great run. If the tour passes by my area, I'll definitely go see it, but it won't be the same as watching the original cast.

Oh I have also seen "Mamma Mia," "Mary Poppins," "Adam's Family," "Lion King," and "Chicago."

I ADORED the Mary Poppins Show. I felt like a kid all over again singing along with the play.

As a matter of fact, I need to find me a bootleg of "In The Heights." That show was too good for me to just settle for the touring cast version. I want the original cast that played in New York. There were supposedly talks about making it into a movie, but I haven't heard of anything since then.

(Being in student council in middle school - Legally Blonde & Shrek. French club freshman/sophomore year - Wicked. )

Just gonna ask to go for my birthday in October, I guess. What to see

I've seen Chicago and Avenue Q and both were fabulous!! I've also been in productions of "Into the Woods" and "Little Shop of Horrors" both are two of my face musicals

Emotionally, Rent will always slay me. Hairspray had me happier than any show ever. Defying Gravity is my fav showtune song, esp watching all the different girls do it their way.

My other faves are Thoroughly Modern Millie, Next to Normal, The Color Purple, and Into the Woods. I would have killed to see Jekyll & Hyde too

I went to see Chicago on broadway baby.

It was phenomenal.

I'm a huge musicals person—both stage and film. ("Chicago" and "Singin' in the Rain" are two of my all-time favorite movies, and I took a course on Hollywood musical this past spring which was a lot of fun.) I've been lucky enough to see "The Lion King" and "Avenue Q" on Broadway, but I also attended "Wicked" at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and I love going to shows in San Francisco or San Jose when they tour in the Bay Area. I even saw Spanish versions of "Grease" and "Chicago" when I was studying abroad in Madrid! Of course, I also see a lot of regional, college and high school productions (we have surprisingly good theater where I live), and I've done some performing in my own time...

My favorites were Phantom and Wicked.
