It's legal and it's free.
I wonder if this will mean the song will chart since MP3.com (CBS Interactive) is paying the wholesale price for it. Kinda like Amazon paying the wholesale price for MP3 and sell it at a loss at $0.69. I doubt her label would give away music for free.

CBS Interactive Music Group officially launched the redesigned MP3.com site, confirming rumors that have been swirling for weeks.
The site offers free music, both downloads and streaming, with a focus on emerging and independent artists. Essentially, the site is encouraging artists to upload their music so that users can gain free access to them. It's also offering a handful of free songs from more established artists, including Britney Spears, 30 Seconds to Mars, My Morning Jacket and others. And, it features a music video widget powered by Vevo.
Music aside, there's a tech blog focusing on music gadgets and services (written by editors at CBS sister company CNET), a music-focused blog, and links to the blogs of various CBS-owned radio stations.
"MP3.com has been a cornerstone of the online music movement since the early days of the Internet," said David Goodman, President, CBS Interactive Music Group, in a statement announcing the launch. "The time is right to build on that history with this robust content offering. In so doing, we are confident we can continue to invigorate our long-standing relationship with the music industry in a mutually beneficial way. We look forward to the many contributions MP3.com will make in that regard, and to bringing the full resources of CBS Interactive Music Group to bear in order to make a compelling product for music fans."
It's not clear yet how CBS Interactive Music Group plans to profit from the new MP3.com, or how or even if artists are being compensated. Details soon.
