Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory" video sparks Twitter war
Quote:
Lady Gaga's video for "The Edge of Glory" hadn’t even premiered Thursday and there was controversy.
And it started with a simple tweet.
"I did NOT direct Lady Gaga's 'Edge of Glory' video. Lady Gaga did," popular music video director Joseph Kahn wrote after Gaga's fans (a.k.a. Little Monsters) demanded the scoop, and some photos featuring a mermaid-esque Gaga leaked online.
It was previously reported that Kahn, who has done videos for artists including Britney Spears (“Toxic”), Eminem ("Love the Way You Lie") and even a few for Gaga, would direct the clip with the singer’s longtime creative director choreographer Laurieann Gibson. Then there were rumors that Kahn and Gibson fought and that they were dismissed from the shoot.
Gibson took to Twitter to explain her side of the story.
"411..The EOG.. Video was not directed by me.. And creative Changes happen always educate ignorant Monster's!!!," she wrote.
This led to both Gibson and Kahn receiving backlash in the form of nasty tweets from some of Gaga’s more passionate fans -- many calling for Gaga to fire Gibson.
The simple video – it’s just Gaga and E Street Band saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who filmed his cameo before suffering a stroke, no dancers, no effects -- premiered on Fox’s "So You Think You Can Dance?"
While Gibson made sure to remind fans that creative changes happen, the attack continued when she quoted another commenter's disappointment over the final version of the clip and one who thought a Google Chrome commercial was better than the clip.
Kahn, on the other hand, was more diplomatic.
“For the record, some Gaga fans tweeting me here are really mean and nasty,” he wrote. “But others are beautiful & wonderful.”
Anyways, I still don't get this whole fiasco. Can somebody explain it to me...like in a really simple way
suppose to be a huge deal and a huge video, but gaga did her solos then the next day they were suppose to do it with the dancers and everything but she apparently told everyone to go home and she did everything herself. From what I understand of it atleast

I'm truly not shocked by the behavior of some, but I am disappointed at them. Gibson isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, that's all I'll say, I think some of you guys have heard what I have to say on this.
Gaga doesn't know what she has created with her cult of little monsters. They are anything but beautiful and wonderful...worst and most annoying (and tasteless) fanbase ever.
