Lauryn Hill may be famous for "That Thing," but she's also getting pretty famous for something else.
The Grammy winner revealed during a performance in Detroit Saturday that she will be "taking time off to give birth" because she and boyfriend Rohan Marley are expecting their sixth child together.
Hill had pretty much called it herself a couple months ago, joking to another group of concertgoers in L.A., "I keep having these children. I don't know if I'm the most fertile woman in America."
Perhaps, but she may be getting some help from her baby daddy's side of the family...
Rohan's father, Bob Marley, had at least nine biological children (acknowledged as his, that is), and brother Ziggy Marley is also a father of six.
His sixth baby with Hill will actually be Rohan's eighth, as he also has two children from a previous relationship. He and the former Fugee frontwoman got together in 1996.
So, apparently Hill just fell in with the right baby-making crowd!
No word on when she's due, but the singer is signed up to headline the Rock the Bells tour with Nas, Cypress Hill, Mos Def and Talib Kweli in August.
Oh snap! That means she will go and hide forever again. I'm so selfish but I can't help it. It has been such a long process for her to start finally going out there and give concerts. I thought that was the sign that the new album will be on the way sooner that we thought. But now this just kills all my stupid hopes.
