Former Michigan basketball star and Detroit native Robert "Tractor" Traylor was found dead in his apartment in Puerto Rico on Wednesday.
According to his professional team, Vaqueros de Bayamon, Traylor suffered a massive heart attack. He was 34.
Police in San Juan said in a statement that Traylor had been missing for a few days and was found on the bedroom floor of the apartment in Isla Verde, just outside San Juan. The team said Traylor had been injured recently and had not played.
Team manager Jose Carlos Perez told the Associated Press that Traylor had been talking by phone to his wife in Chicago on Wednesday when the connection was suddenly cut off. She called team officials and they checked on him, Perez said. Their game scheduled for Wednesday night was suspended because of his death.
