Jennifer Hudson has followed in the footsteps of J-Lo and confused Cheryl Cole with singer/songwriter Sheryl Crow.
The US singer and actress, who held a party at the Ivy Restaruant recently to celebrate the release of her latest album I Remember Me, made the faux pas when asked to comment on the 27-year-old X Factor judge.
Speaking ahead of her appearance on So You Think You Can Dance, Hudson looked confused when asked about the Girls Aloud singer, saying:
“Sheryl Crow?”
When corrected, the Dreamgirls star admitted: “
No, I’m not familiar with her.”
Cole has been the centre of a media frenzy as Simon Cowell launches TV talent show The X Factor in the US.
Concerns over the Parachute singers lack of stateside recognition has reportedly been a worry for Fox Producers so Hudson’s latest comments may come as a blow.
However, Miss Cole does have her fans, with Cat Deeley being the latest star to encourage her transition onto the US small screen.
Deeley, who made the move from UK TV presenter to a US hit herself, told The Sun: "Cheryl is just completely charming. The whole public love her and she's the nation's sweetheart - I don't see why she wouldn't be that in America too.
"It's going to be one of the most expensive TV shows ever made and it's going to have big expectations behind it."
