50 bucks to full gas..now...depends..sometimes its ok since my mums car only needs gas once a week, except on long drives maybe once.

I BLAME Obama.

It's really expensive! When my family goes out of town, it is really gasoline that makes our trip expensive. Ugh.

Well, demand is probably higher than the supply, so nothing we can do about it. Atleast this will be good for the environment. Less gas expense, less pollution...

Please It's about conflict in the middle east (most recently, Egypt and Libya). Besides, Obama is all about improving fuel economy and moving past oil. The president is usually who all the blame is put on too, but it's a much bigger issue

Well if the oil producing countries were actually giving us all the oil they had (not staggering the production to control prices) prices wouldn't be nearly as high. But they want money/power. That's why it's important for us to move away from oil. It costs too much for the United States/other heavily industrialized countries, and it's not going to last.

I think if my country was actually an oil-riched land, I would do the same thing. Oil is an exhaustible product, so I'm going to do all I can to keep it as long as the supply last. It's not considered black gold for nothing. To say that they should've just give away the oil we needed to lower oil prices without thinking for the next seasons is foolish. It's their economy at the end of the day.

But I agree with you that the oil prices are high and it would affect more things like prices on all levels and that we should really move out from oil to alternative fuel. But that may take a bit of a time considering people can't just change their car or upgrade their cars into non-oil fueled cars easily. But I would love to see that day...The discovery of oil was a good thing but it had its bad effects too...

The worst thing is that gas prices affect EVERYTHING. Food has to be shipped, office supplies have to be shipped, all imports/exports in the world.... use oil. So everything costs more, it's not just gas. Ridiculous.

No I agree. I totally understand why those countries are doing what they are doing. Just like most other countries, they're trying to get ahead in a capitalist-fueled (in many places) global economy.

I do wish that finding the technology was easier though. I wish I was rich enough to buy myself a Nissan Leaf or something :P Seriously, if that thing had more range and maybe some solar panels, that would be wonderful. Right now I drive a Honda Civic coupe (30ish mpg on average) and I don't plan on buying another car until I can afford something more along the lines of a Prius or just full electric.

Lol true and considering my dream car isn't cheap, there's no way I could easily move away into a new tech which will probably cost more than what would be outdated oil-fueled cars in the near future... Imagine a Murcielago using solar panels. I can't even...

The gas prices in the states are literally nothing compared to the gas prices in the UK and Ireland at the moment.

You have $4 a gallon, for us it is 131p per liter, there are 4 liters in a gallon which comes to £5.24 (ish) a gallon.
That would be more than twice the price $8.40 a gallon.
