It honestly will. An era I would love to see come back is 90's R&B and 80's pop without autotune. I hear soul in Kay's voice and thats the only reason I'm interested. Honestly, I only like her song 'Spacegirl' that is sampled in the first video. I could give a **** about the pop **** anymore.

Right? I have nothing against Pop. In fact, I'm mainly not even into hardcore Urban music. That's why I liked rappers like Nelly, Ja Rule, 50 Cent etc. IDK, I'm just having a hard time getting into all this electro-techno-house stuff. It's too soulless and headache-inducing for me to constantly have in rotation like some people around here. I mean I like some of it but it's like I can't even turn on Pop radio anymore and listen to a feel-good slow jam anymore. It's hard to believe chicks like Ashanti got #1 Pop hits back in the day. And sadly, Urban radio is kinda slacking too.

I get what you're saying. Some of it would sound too dated for today, but what I liked about 90s R&B was compositional and lyrical quality. I feel like alot of R&B today is lacking that soul feeling.

Yeah I agree that the overall quality of mainstream music should take a step up, but going backwards isn't the way to do it. Music can be good AND progressive.
