Do you really not see it? She's a meme. A "it's so bad, it's good" situation. Not sure who 'discovered' the video (4chan? ONTD?), but it spread like wildfire across the blogosphere and basically every music forum. Of course, through word of mouth it quickly became more popularly known, with people referencing it as their Facebook statuses and such.

I'm kind of sick of it, but some brilliant people can STILL make it funny, and it's hilarious to talk about in real life. I do feel bad for laughing at a 13-year-old girl, but hell, I'm sure she's feeling totally validated at this point.

I don't see how all these Rebecca threads are any different from when people bombard tha board with Britney,GaGa,Katy & Rihanna threads everyday.

It's not the fact that it's on overload with her popularity, but it just seems that her popularity is based off of making a mockery of her. That's the sad part about the ordeal. I guess, I will just deal with it until her fame passes.

She has been all over the net. She has been trending on twitter for a past few days now . I think she will be trending non-stop like Justin Bieber used to. Media outlets are also talking about her. But most the attention she is getting is all for the wrong reasons. Most folks are just making fun of her and her cheesy song and lyrics. Some people thought it was a Funny or Dir joke or a parody.

I do think it needs to stop . I am starting to feel bad for her. I wonder how she must be feeling with all this negativity about her on the internet .

Some people do actually have reasoning behind their liking of the song, and it's not all negative. For me, it's the biggest (unintentional) pop music satire ever. Of course it's the kind of song that can get stuck in your head, and it's easy to make fun of, but it's proof of the power of the internet. You don't have to be famous, don't have to be signed to a major label, or even be incredibly talented to become a sort of household name over night.

I'm not sick of the song, and I probably won't ever be, but that's because I enjoy how refreshing it is in that it was never even meant to be heard as much as it is now. I'm not sure what the effects will be on Rebecca personally, but I'd like to see her be interviewed on Ellen or something. She may just surprise us in the future.
