Blaine and the Dalton Academy Warblers are releasing a Glee album of their own in April, a rep for the show confirms to TVGuide.com.
Darren Criss announced the news on Live with Regis and Kelly Monday morning.
So far this season, the Warbler’s have sung Katy Perry’s “
Teenage Dream,” Train’s “
Hey, Soul Sister,” Destiny Child’s “
Bills, Bills, Bills,” Robin Thicke’s “
When I Get You Alone” and Wings’ “
Silly Love Songs.” Upcoming — spoiler alert — they’ll also cover Neon Trees’ “
Animal” and Maroon 5’s “
Misery.” During Regionals, they’ll “
Raise Your Glass” anthem by Pink.
The cover of “Teenage Dream” by Criss and the Warblers (voiced by real-life a cappella group the Beezlebubs from Tufts University) topped Billboard’s Hot 100 in November, the first time a Glee recording hit No. 1 on the chart.
Criss was made a series regular last year, and will go on tour with the cast this summer.
“
It’s fun being a Warbler,” Criss, who also performed “Silly Love Songs,” told the hosts. “
It’s kind of like being on our own little show. Everyone always asks me, ‘How’s the cast?’ and they’re lovely and I love the main kids at McKinley. But the fact is I actually spend most of my time away at another school, like we’re in our own little TV show.”
