I'm not talking about individual singers.
Lance's bass, Chris' countertenor and Joey's baritone brings their entire harmony together and makes it full. Just because JC and Justin sing lead doesn't mean they're "carrying" anyone.
I think people might pick BSB for the reason above. IMO Nick throws off BSB's harmony way off.
NSYNC's acapella arrangements were far more complex (I Thought She Knew, the Bee Gees medley and the O Holy Night, etc) which is why I enjoy listening to them more. Lance was also a much better bass than Kevin. His voice is incredibly deep.
