This is a really, really hard one. Piece Of Me is one of my all-time favorite songs, and Hard is one of my favorite Rated R tracks. Both deal with media conflicts. Both are arguably the best singles from their album. I love both almost equally.
Personally, I prefer Piece Of Me. The song was really futuristic for it's time and could be released now. It's fresh and the lyrics are meaningful. Her voice is just perfect for the song. So, I'm voting Piece Of Me.
"Piece Of Me" was ahead of its time. Rarely ever has an artist so effectively answered critics. The loud synths, the dramatic vocal sample, the down tempo dance beat, the direct and fearless lyrics that leave no questions asked, the brilliant vocal combination of sexy and angry... everything about it is fantastic.
