I think it probably started out on some anime forum or somewhere where someone thought that was the right way to say it... and then it caught on as an inside joke, then spread across the internet... Idk... It's like a virus.

The same could be said for those "You Mad" or "U Mad" gifs as well.

But that's common in the real world. I've never heard anyone say, "I'm Died."

I have never heard anyone say "You mad?" Usually its "Are you mad?". When I was in high school someone actually once said "I'm died." They didn't pass english.... obviously.
