Lady Gaga has simply overtaken the Billboard charts this week.
First, her "Born This Way" was crowned the 1,000th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with splashy debuts on the Radio Songs and Digital Songs chart, and now she rises to the top of the Social 50 chart for the first time.
With big increases in Twitter followers and official YouTube channel views, she skips 3-1 on the tally with hearty increases in new Facebook fans (up 14% week-over-week), Twitter followers (52%) and both subscribers (117%) and views (231%) to her official YouTube channel. No doubt, the arrival of "Born This Way" to her YouTube home on Friday, Feb. 11 caused the huge spike.
The Social 50 ranks the most active artists on the world's leading social networking sites -- YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and iLike -- using a formula blending weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.
