"My new album is definitely going to be R&B, which I’m really excited about because I haven’t done R&B in a long time. I just want to do R&B that is very forward where it’s not just what you hear on the radio now. I want it to be different. I’m going to be working with as many producers as I can. I want to connect with a variety of producers. I don’t want to stick with my same formula of working with one specific person. Why not work with everyone who wants to work with me? I really want to work with different writers and producers like Ester Dean and Rico Love…people that I really feel that can really get what I want to say out. I want to make sure that this is an album that the fans really deserve. The fans are going to stick with you no matter what you do. You can at least give them your best."

UrbanBridgez.com: Let’s talk about Brandy, one of my favorite singers in the world. What can fans expect from the work you guys are doing with her for the next album?
Sean (Kadis & Sean): Wow, we’re really going in man! The first song we ever did with Brandy in person, because we’ve had stuff where she’s liked other tracks and stuff. But we had never worked directly with her. She actually came in and is featured on an Audio Push song called “Aviator.” So she came in and did the hook for that song and that lead to us going in directly with her. The first song is an amazing record called “Silent Night.” You’ll hear and can expect a much deeper and much more authentic Brandy. Similar to what she was in the beginning, but not as commercialized. It’s raw, there’s energy there! It’s real music, real lyrics…She’s very much involved! In everything we’ve done (for her project) and will be. Everything we’ve done has been from scratch, so she’s very involved in the creative process. So you’ll be able to feel the music more so than just listen to it sonically.

Brandy’s upcoming album, which is slated for release in early 2011, is the biggest project on the producer's [Bangladesh] docket. She commissioned him to helm the production of the album -- the first time he's been given the reigns over one artist's entire project.

Well because she’s been away so long. I guess people’s attention spans are short now, and she comes from an era where music was more organic and everybody had they own sound, people were doing different things and albums were selling,” Bangladesh tells Singersroom. “So, we’re just trying to re-invent or recreate the sound and mesh the two together. What I do and what she does, I think will be up-to-date…there’s something about her tone and her vocal skills…that [people that] can really sing love her. I always wanted to work with her and she reached out to me so we’re going to make it happen."
Involves heavy production from: Tricky Stewart, The-Dream, Danja, production duo Kadis & Sean, Akon, and Bangladesh

Songs known to be recorded for the album: Silent Night, How High (snippet leaked), Beautiful (snippet leaked)
Family album (A Family Business) will be released first and is set to include Brandy's songs Lifeguard, I Can't Wait, I Don't Care
It seems like everyone is jumping on the Euro-pop train these days. With one turn of your radio dial you can hear everyone from Usher ('DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love Again') and Chris Brown ('Yeah 3x') to Rihanna ('S&M') latching on the synth-heavy global dance craze that is currently dominating the charts. But one act who won't be going that route is Grammy-winning singer Brandy.
The R&B veteran, who has sold more than 25 million albums since the release of her 1994 self-titled debut, is in the studio working on the follow-up to her 2008 release 'Human.' According to Brandy, she promises a much more grittier urban sound. "I'm not going for the Euro pop [sound] on this album," she told The BoomBox. "I like different styles of music, and that pop style is fine. It's the type of music that makes me move. But I just don't want to forget about my core audience. Just look at Usher. He did all his R&B in the beginning. Now he is playing around with the pop sound. And there's nothing wrong with that because for years he gave us what we wanted."
Brandy, who turns 32 years old today, admits that she went the wrong musical direction with her last studio project 'Human.' "I think my mistake on 'Human' was that it was too pop," she candidly says. "I want to go back to the fans that want the feel and sound of 'Never Say Never,' 'Full Moon,' and the vibe of my first album."
While Brandy won't give any full-details on a date for her new release, she says the set will drop this year. Having parted ways with her longtime label Atlantic Records in 2004, the acclaimed vocalist says that she is in discussions with a high profile label.
"It's happening," she says. "I can't talk about it, but I'm very excited."
