Quote:
Cher Lloyd has received abuse on Twitter about her gypsy heritage.
The X Factor star, who is rumoured to be working with Rihanna on her debut album, was the victim of taunts regarding her Romany gypsy roots on the mirco-blogging site, following the popularity of the Channel 4 documentary, My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.
One Twitter user tweeted to Lloyd: "Ho i swear I just seen half ur fam on channel 4," while someone else posted: "Shouldn't you be preparing for your big fat gypsy wedding?"
Another user wrote to the singer: "Gypsy life expectancy is 50. That means we probably have another 33 years of Cher Lloyd."
The 17-year old has since hit back at the negative posts, telling her Twitter followers: "keep chuckin those gypsy comments in, i'll tarmac ya drive and trim ya hedges for ya if ya like? No shame in me :L"
She later added: "might shave all my hair off and get a tattoo on my head. goodnight world."
Cher, who was rumoured to be starring in a celebrity episode of Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, also recently confirmed that she has been working with producers RedOne and The Runners on her first LP.
What's the big deal about being a Gypsy in the UK?
They're so backward. Watch the show and you'll find out. They treat their women terribly, they're essentially second class citizens. Their only ambition in life is to get married because they're not really permitted to do anything else. It's really sad.
