It depends. Are they closeted to family and friends? Just friends? Just family? Do they show promise of coming out if you help them? If they are just straight up not budging, I'd say no.
if they can't be themselves , problems will manifest in other ways. when repression isn't a means of survival, it's like a nefarious disease that warps someone's brain and makes them think / do weird ****. just speaking from experience and maybe some of ya'll have some different stories but ......... more often than not it's a lot more trouble than it's worth in the end
also if ur dating a guy while he's closeted , then throughout the course of ur relationship he comes out of the closet , be prepared to be cheated on. or to have him want to stray/wander/for him to be a lot more eager to get someone else involved. coming out is literally becoming a different person and opening urself up to multitudinous opportunities, and ur no longer the shiny penny that u once were in his dark ass cupboard.
Yes In fact I've done it a couple times. They are usually much more masc and look more like Maluma than other gays if that's what you're looking for. And they generally know how to destroy the buss like other gays can't. The guy I'm seeing is in the closet and I've not run into any issue. My mother quite likes him so he's comfortable knowing there's no problem on my end and his family lives about 3 hours away. At the end of the day I'm not with him to show him off so I don't mind it.
