I'm a call center agent. I've only been in this industry for 3 months but I'm already tired and exhausted. I feel like I need to quit already. Especially that I'm handing Sprint aka the hardest account ever.

They really pay a lot though, it's just you'll be drained so bad that you'll want to die already.


Anyway, just wondering if some of you have call center experience and how hard was it for you.

I remember my office mate got a call from an American customer. The customer told her to transfer him to an American agent bc he doesn't want to talk to a third world country person. Felt bad for her. Hopefully I'll never encounter those racist people.

i worked at the call center we have at my job for 2 days during election time and was bored out of my MIND, i work for the voter registration department where i live so all the questions were simple answers and i had to give out the same answer over and over again.

Some lady didnt have internet and i had to give her turn by turn directions to her polling place and she kept saying that it was the wrong way and she was going to try her way instead (WHICH WAS THE ACTUAL WRONG WAY ). Later one of my co-workers said they got a call from the lady i had and it turns out she didnt listen to me and got lost and was mad.

So yeah i couldn't stand being there 2 days so idk how you managed 3 months at a place i would expect gets even more dense and angry people

I don't have any call center experience but one time I got one of those spam calls about viruses on your computer, I told the dude **** off, he called back twice (and kept calling me ma'am the whole time) and said he loved me.

I had and my supervisor told me to get out of there before the rot sets in, those staying there for more than a year, is because they can't get away.

I've worked at call centers for AT&T (system was trash), Blue Cross Blue Shield (unorganized, strict for no reason), Amway( shadey, draining), and now Charter Spectrum as a retention representative and I LOVE IT.

I get 18$ an hour and monthly commission anywhere between 1,000-2,500$. Which is the best paying call center in my city.

What I love about charter and expect in a call center is:

Time in between calls: at least 8-15 minutes at average. If you get more than that it's draining.

Solid System: a system that lets you do no wrong. Charters system is linear so I could never get in trouble for doing something wrong. ATT was another story.

All I have to worry about at my job is make sure I'm on time and take calls and be available to take them. (And I can sit anywhere I want). It's a ****en walk in the park. I've been there for 1 1/2 years now.

I work in one right now and I don't like it as much as I thought I will tbh

I work part time / 4h though 'cause I go to college. I'm on an inbound project so we receive calls and there's always like 60 calls waiting on the line, you don't have time to breathe It's only on NYE when we had like 3 minutes between calls.

if you're dealing with middle america hicks all day then i completely understand

I'm working for a Telecom atm

I make an average of 3 to 4 calls to the center agents(most of them are Indian I believe) everyday

I get extremely exhausted after a 10 mins call, I can't imagine doing it for 8 hours a day

I also handled Sprint before. Bitch, where do you work?

I did when I was in high school and I HATED every second of it.

I used to work at my university's call center where we'd solicit alumni, parents of students, and "friends" of the university for donations. It was a terrible job but it really improved for speaking skills and confidence. I only did it for about 6 months.

I work for US BAnk call center.

I work at a call center while I go to college and I like it. It's only three hours a day and work could be much worse than just talking to people.

Yes but only for 7 non-consecutive months, outbound, with 2 of them being part-time so my experience is literally useless

Are phone conversations really recorded ?
