Sure, Apple, sure. It took you years after Android to add wireless charging, and you expect me to believe this?

Android phones have wireless charging from several feet away? There isn't a single consumer smartphone with this feature on the market. The charging tech rumored for the iPhone 8 could actually revolutionize the electronics industry if true.

I'm probably reading this wrong but...
Android adds stuff normally when its not ready (ex. the Galaxy S7). Apple takes time to make sure it works 110% before adding it (and even then, it's not perfect because literally there is no perfect technology out there that does what it's supposed to.) It was coded/written by humans, who make mistakes constantly.

You should not take that tone considering that the iPhone is still 9 MONTHS away and this is just a rumor...

Samsung phones have had the best screens on the market for at least 2 years, why did Apple wait so long to used oled panels (another rumor) then ?

My tone would be the same if this was rumored for the Galaxy S8. If Apple, or anyone can implement this tech in a mass produced consumer phone, it will be amazing and a benefit to everyone.

Currently, there aren't enough OLED manufactures producing the amount of yield required for an entire line of iPhones with OLED displays. Samsung would have to cut their own supply in half or magically double their production facilities to make it happen. Sony and LG are expected to ramp up OLED production this year to help compensate, but it looks like only a single high end iPhone 8 will have OLED, while the other models/model will be LED.

Honestly I'm over this whole Android vs Apple thing, stfu. Now if this works, I'm gonna be slayed.

For people who go don't get how this works let me explain.

Current wireless charging uses induction to charge a battery. You rest the phone or whatever on a pad. But with Apple Wireless Charging, there will be a device that's powered by a signal. Think of it as if wifi were sending power to your devices.

It's amazing because one day down the line this tech could be incorporated into the cellular networks or at least all around us and we would never have to worry about having a charged phone.
