Say her name, say her name. Michelle Williams. The former girl-band vocalist comes back to the Bayou City to perform at the 97th annual Mayor’s Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting on Friday, December 2.
Williams joined Houston’s own Destiny’s Child in 2000, contributing to millennial anthems like “Survivor” and “Bootylicious” before releasing her first solo album “Heart to Yours” in 2002, which garnered her three Grammy nominations, including Best Gospel Album. Now living in Chicago, Williams returns to Houston to perform holiday favorites at the annual event outside of City Hall.

“I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the holiday season than with the community coming together and enjoying an evening of music, dancing and special appearances,” says Mayor Sylvester Turner. “As my first official holiday celebration as Mayor of Houston, I am privileged to be a part of such a long-standing tradition.”
