Poll: Should there be a Palestinian state?

It seems like people here on ATRL are very divided on the issue, so I'd like to discuss with everyone and see who's pro-Palestine and who's against (and why).

I think there should be NO independent Palestinian state because 1) they don't recognize Israel, yet they're currently under its territories 2) it's illegal under the Israeli law to hand out territories belonging to the Israeli State 3) under their current rule, they'd just make a huge mess out of it.

Also, Italy, along with most first-world countries, doesn't recognize its existence.

But let's hear all the opinions!

No, people should be working on being united instead of being divided from all these pointless religious ideologies.

Hopefully one day humanity will look back at history and see how stupid people were for being filled with hate and dividing ourselves with invisible lines

Actually, no. I think the issue of Palestina is a good uniting issue for Muslims. Having a common enemy/cause can help away internal divisions. This way there will be less fights amongst muslims which I think are a big potential danger.

If Palestina were to become its own state, it would be doomed to be even more unstable, with wars happening all the time.

But I do think that morally speaking Israel is not at the right side. I think I side with most European countries who see it as highly problematic but see no actual solution for it.

The question should really be, which option is best.

1. One state solution with full democracy
2. One state solution with apartheid
3. One state solution with ethnic cleansing.
4. Two state solution with Israel and a Palestinian state

If you choose option 1, then it gets rather complicated. You'd need to consider the rights of the Palestinian refugees and their families that wish to return to their ancestral home.

There should be a Palestinian state. All Muslims of Israel should have the right to settle there, just like the Israelis of Palestine should have the right to come back (but no obligation). The state's territory should be the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

If there has to be a Palestinian state, I'd rather let someone else handle its administration because it has all it takes to become a terrorist state in the state it is right now

muslims of israel know their standard of living and treatment is better there than anywhere else in the middle east

that's why two-thirds would choose to stay israeli in this situation

Its Palestinian territory the Israeli settlers keep stealing. There would be no need for a separate state if Israel respected Palestinians rights and stopped to treat them like subhumans, but we all know that wont happen. So yes, Palestinians deserve their own rights and freedom, and in this case its achievable only if they will have their own state.

This could have been settled (lol) in 1948 but the Arab states chose not to accept the U.N.'s partition into a Jewish and a Palestinian state. The rest is history. Stop seeing it so one-sided!

If the Palestinian people want that, then absolutely. Never understood why you wouldn't respect the voice of the people in cases like this.
