It's a serious question. I've seen a lot of people mention both years, but I would like to hear it directly from her fans... So my question is: when did Gaga's career start fading exactly? Because if that's 2011, that means she lasted only 3 (!) years as one of the main pop girls.
The shift of mega sucess from the supposed album of the millenia (some called it so) to 21 which only after 2 weeks were ahead BTW while being much older had obvious symbolic significance. When Gaga came back with Artpop the numbers clearly showed that her decline started in 2011 already, otherwise it'd atleast open bigger and have a huge leadsingle.
She was still a "main" artist up until in 2013 tho

I'd say the BTW era hindered her a bit because her image was getting old and aesthetically it just felt like a repetition of the TFM era. ARTPOP was like a messy combination of TF, TFM and BTW and that's where she died. With Joanne she has finally reinvented her image and sound and I have faith that her career will be revived, but nonetheless she is and always will be iconic.
