Of all the events in 2016, this is the most alarming for me: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-38369962. Russian ambassador to Turkey Andrei Karlov shot dead in Ankara.

I can only feel sorry for all the people that have ever died violently, also remembering that it is my biggest personal fear to die in that way, but diplomatic murders such as the one above have lead to great wars in past and it might just tilt the momentum to that direction again.

We were never ready for weapons. The people who created them were and still are truly intelligent, but the people who use them, too often are not sage enough.

...I'm not aware of any countries in power are SUPER close with Turkey enough to ally with them in a war.

Trolling aside, Yes, we are. Humanity is the pits right now and I can see this happen in 10 years from now on. Sadly most of us are not ready for this and casualties will be so disastrous

Turkey is a member of NATO, and is a vital ally to the West as far as Middle Eastern politics go. But they've been trying it lately, especially since Erdogan has gotten into power. He is super shady, and there is no doubt in my mind that he's helping to fund ISIS under the table. ISIS doesn't have any air force or nuclear capabilities, just leftover weapons from whatever towns they've taken over/battles they've won. But they do have oil... How can a runaway militia group have so much power unless someone is allowing them to exist? Not to mention, the Kurds and ISIS are always fighting each other.
