He ruins it.

It was alright. Kelly sounds great and I understand this is a pop version of this song but the guys musicality choices kind of ruin it for me. Like most of the "verses" are supposed to be Hamilton pretty broken and talking about how his son's death has changed him and it just doesn't come off right to have these soaring bright notes.

I'm not really sure how to explain it other than the musicality and the way he is emoting just doesn't fit the lyrics and theme.

^ agree - Kelly on the other hand is heartbreaking and emotional ... just didn't fit his vibe, but happy for the promo!

^Agreed, I was thinking that while watching it. He legit smiled at one point, and I just didn't get any emotion from his voice. Nothing against them though, he's clearly got a good voice.

But Kelly on her own with this song shines so so much.
