A new protest against the forthcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story movie with the hashtag #DumpStarWars has kicked off online.
Members of the alt-right who championed Donald Trump’s election victory have taken to Twitter to oppose the new movie which one member criticised for using a “multiculturalism anti-American agenda in a science fiction Disney movie”.
According to The Independent, the row kicked off after the film’s scriptwriter Chris Weitz last month posted a tweet, which has since been deleted, which stated: “Please note that the Empire is a white supremacist (human) organisation, opposed by a multi-cultural group led by brave women.”
This apparently led to a group of alt-right members to create the #DumpStarWars.
Star Wars fans have since hit back with their own tweets, mocking the alt-right.
I'm still seeing this, but that tweet about possible shootings in theaters has me a little shook.
It's kind of weird how they can employ suspension of belief when it comes life on other planets, robots, spaceships, and weapons made of light, but can't accept something that's actually real.
They are soooo sensitive. You know, the very thing they call liberals. I hope they continue boycotting. Soon, they won't be able to watch any movie or eat any food. And they'll probably start to die off.
